Federal Skilled Trades Program - FST

The Canadian Government and Immigration Department started the Federal Skilled Trades(FST) Program in order to fulfil the growing shortage of skilled workers in the certain domains that were experiencing rapid economic growth. Eligibility

  • Applicant must have offers of employment from up to two employers in Canada which are of the minimum one-year time duration or a Certificate of Qualification from a provincial or territorial body.
  • Present proof of language proficiency from a certain designated language organization, which assess that the candidate meets the given threshold of Canadian Level Benchmark (CLB) 5 for speaking and listening and CLB 4 for reading and writing;
  • Having two years of work experience in the skilled trade in the last five years.
