There will be 30,000 opportunities to sponsor parents and grandparents for Canadian citizens and permanent residents. Over the coming two weeks, between today and October 7, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will issue invitations.Sponsors have 60 days to submit their sponsorship applications to IRCC.

Congratulations to those who got the invitation. But, honestly, this lottery system is not a good way to invite people for sponsoring their parents.
1. People’s families' lives depend on these decisions by IRCC. It should not be decided by a lottery. The government cannot make people’s life decisions based on a lottery.
2. How is it fair that people who became Canadian PR/Citizens in the last 1-3 years are invited to sponsor their parents, but those who have been PRs / citizens for more than 10 years are still waiting.
